Jobs without German

For employers

If you hire in Germany, Austria or German-speaking Switzerland and you have roles that do not require German, you can have them listed here.

What this site does with your jobs

  • We show your job title, city, a short excerpt, and a language label.
  • Every listing links to your advert on your careers page. Readers apply with you, in your own system.
  • We never take applications, never sit between you and a candidate, and never hold anyone's CV.
  • We never republish a full advert. An excerpt and a link, nothing more.

There is nothing to pay and nothing to sign. Every listing is treated the same way, in the same place, in the same order. No adverts are shown on this site at present; if any ever are, they will be marked as such and kept apart from the listings, and they will have no influence on which jobs appear or how they are labelled.

What we need from you

A link to your own job board. Most companies run their careers page through an applicant tracking system, and those systems publish an open feed we can read directly. We currently read:

  • Greenhouse
  • Lever
  • Ashby
  • Workable
  • Recruitee
  • Personio
  • SmartRecruiters

Send the address of your public careers page — for example jobs.lever.co/yourcompany or yourcompany.jobs.personio.de — to info@jobswithoutgerman.de. Once it is added, your open roles are picked up automatically and refresh every night.

When you close a role it stops being picked up, and the listing comes off this site once it has been missing from your feed for a fortnight. If you need it gone sooner, write and ask — see below.

If your careers page runs on something else, write anyway and say which system you use.

What we will not do

  • We will not list a role that asks for German. Adverts that require German are dropped automatically. See how we label German.
  • We will not copy your adverts from StepStone, Indeed, LinkedIn or Xing. Only your own careers page or your own feed.
  • We will not add anything of ours to your careers page. The Google ads and the visit counting run on our own pages only — never on yours. See privacy.
  • We will not place an ad among your listings or dress one up to look like a job.
  • We will not use your name or logo to suggest you endorse this site.

A note on your advert text

Readers of this site are choosing where to apply partly on what your advert says about language. If English is genuinely the working language, saying so in the advert helps them and helps you — silence is the commonest case and the least useful one.

Please also keep in mind that the wording of a job advert is regulated, and the three countries do it differently. In Germany the Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz (AGG) protects six characteristics, and the federal anti-discrimination agency asks employers to keep adverts neutral about all of them.[1] In Austria an advert may not carry remarks about sex, ethnicity, religion or belief, age or sexual orientation, and every advert must state the minimum pay for the role.[2] Switzerland has no general equivalent: its federal equality act covers discrimination between women and men, and it applies to the whole of working life, from hiring onwards.[3]

Responsibility for the advert stays with you as the employer.

Removing a listing

Write to info@jobswithoutgerman.de with the link, from a company address. We remove listings on request from the employer, without asking why. You can also ask to have your company taken off the site entirely, and no further roles will be picked up.
